Welcome to the Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities at St. John College of Engineering and Management.

As the Head of this foundational department, it gives me immense pride to introduce a dynamic and dedicated team of faculty members who are committed to nurturing scientific temperament, critical thinking, and communication skills among first-year engineering students. We firmly believe that a strong foundation in basic sciences, mathematics, and humanities is essential for building competent and responsible engineers.

Our department plays a pivotal role in shaping the academic journey of students by offering courses in Engineering Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Communication Skills, and Environmental Science. We focus not only on academic excellence but also on inculcating ethical values, soft skills, and a spirit of innovation through interactive teaching methods, student-centered learning, and practical exposure.

With the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) and the autonomy granted to our institute, we are constantly upgrading our curriculum, integrating interdisciplinary topics, and adopting modern pedagogies to make learning more relevant, outcome-oriented, and industry-aligned.
