About the Department of Information Technology

The Department of Information Technology is committed to developing skilled, innovative, and industry-ready professionals equipped to excel in the fast-evolving digital era. With a strong foundation in quality technical education, the department offers a forward-looking curriculum that integrates core IT principles with emerging domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, and Software Development.

The department proudly offers a Minor/Honors degree in Data Science, enabling students to gain specialized analytical and computational skills that are highly valued across industries. In addition, the department offers an M.Tech in Information Technology with an intake of 18 seats, fostering advanced learning, research, and innovation at the postgraduate level.

A distinctive strength of the department is its strong focus on research, innovation, and patent development. Faculty members actively guide students in research-oriented projects, encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving aligned with real-world applications.

The department has a dynamic and academically strong faculty team, including two faculty members currently pursuing their Ph.D. and one Post-Doctoral Faculty person, contributing significantly to high-quality teaching, research output, and scholarly activities.
